Sinking EDM is used in the manufacture of inserts for various injection molding tools. In this case, machining is carried out with ingot mold made of copper or graphite. The dielectric is usually mineral or synthetic dielectric oil with a high flash point.
The desired shape is formed on the workpiece with a spatial electrode. By simultaneously moving the X, Y, Z and C axes, we create various shapes, indentations and undercuts which cannot be formed by other machining methods. During the process, the shape is formed by a spatial electrode and disturbing movements in all directions of space, independently of the size of the electrodes and autonomously.
